Irving Marine Corporation or IMC is the largest shipyard in Acadia. The shipyard was founded in 1889 in Halifax as the Halifax Shipyard and were acquired by Irving Incorporated in 1965.

The shipyard has served the New Quebec Navy, constructing frigates, destroyers, and ice breakers.

In 2067, following the conclusion of the Vinsalian Conflict, J Andres and New Quebec agreed to an exchange of arms, permitting IMC to sell ships to the J Andres Navy, and for New Quebec to purchase vessels from Kensington Mews Shipbuilding.

In 2086, Irving Incorporated went out of business due to difficulties operating through the various New Quebec successor states. The shipyard operated sporatically throughout the post-Grand Mexican War period, until 2138, when it was purchased[1] by Annan Enterprises.

The SAE Houston, the first IMC ship produced for the Augustine Empire

In 2141, IMC worked closely with the Augustine Empire to design a steam powered ship of the line battleship, the Houston-class battleship[2]. Strict export requirements from the Acadian government did not allow IMC to sell the ship to a foreign government with weapons on board. So the ship was sold simply as a large sailing vessel with an auxiliary steam propulsion system, and then it would sail south to Miami where it would be outfitted with 106 cannons.

In 2147, IMC began producing Buffalo-class patrol ships for J Andres[3], to be used to defend Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.
