The Kingdom of Vinsalia was a nation on the east coast of North America. In 2089, following the death of their King, Vinsalia and J Andres entered into a personal union under Phillippe. He later admitted Vinsalia into J Andres in 2091.
Geography[]
The Kingdom of Vinsalia is primarily dominated by mountains. It consists of the former state of New York. Vinsalia ceded New Hampshire and Vermont to New Quebec in 2067.
History[]
Vinsalia was first granted its independence from the North American Commonwealth in 2051. Francisco Bourbon, originally Chairman of the Vinsalian Committee, later became the President, ruling the nation for about 5 years. Towards the end of the first Vinsalian Republic, Vinsalia engaged in a small border conflict with J Andres. The conflict was little more than a small skirmish, followed by a large troop surge along the border. Vinsalia collapsed due to internal pressures before the crisis reached a tipping point.
In 2064, Gabriel Bourbon, son of Francisco Bourbon, declared himself King of Vinsalia and requested independence from the North American Commonwealth. The Commonwealth obliged, and Gabriel established the seat of government in Albany.
Government and Politics[]
Vinsalia is an absolute monarchy, with the Monarch the sole authority on all matters. Gabriel was the founding monarch in 2064.
Foreign Relations[]
Foreign Relations between Vinsalia and J Andres have been rocky since the crisis that preceded Vinsalia's first collapse. Relations with the North American Commonwealth are strong, although the Commonwealth has pressured Vinsalia to form an elected legislature.
