The primary purpose of the Council Pacifica is to represent the Body Republic of the Order. This is talking to and building relationships with their fellow Comrades. This is listening to the questions, concerns, and ideas of everyday Pacificans as well as those in authority, and addressing those appropriately, whether it be as simple as explaining how to do something on IRC, or taling to the Emperor about a potential problem. While the Council cannot execute change itself, it is an important pipeline through which ideas for the improvement of the Order flow, including changes thought of by the Council itself; thus, it has just as big an effect as those who actually implement the changes.
The Council, created by Ivan Moldavi was originally two separate entities, The War Council and the Alliance Council which was started the Feb 1st 2006. This was changed to today's version of the Council in April 2007. The Council in today's standards is the vital link between the Imperial Offices and the BR as a whole. As an elected position it is truly a representation of those the BR feels would represent them best.
A few of the current projects are the Council Podcasts, the Monthly Gazette and Ordo Moobius Muneris has been released.
The future of the Council is going to be whatever the elected members make of it. The Council is only as good and as motivated as the Comrades that are elected.
Recently the Council held an international event called the "Royal Pacifica Ball" which was a hit with all members across the Cyberverse.
The Council is mostly self governing by the elected officials themselves, when in need the Council consults with Mary the Fantabulous (who acts as the Chair), Sir Donald R. Deamon or Noob5 as Imperial Officers of Internal Affairs.
On May 29, 2009, Emperor Revenge issued an Imperial Decree outlining a new Council structure as well as defining the jobs of the Council. In addition to these changes, it was announced that 3 Imperial Advisory staff would join the Council, serving 4 month terms, and at the end of the 4 months 3 new IA staff would join.
With the break up of SCS in mid-June, the Council took on a number of sub sections of the former organisation, including the Sitter Guard which looks after other nations for the rulers who take a break and the observatory which is responsible for Franco's Star.

The tie was between Bakamitai and Cager. This resulted in a 48 hour run-off vote to decided the third new Councilor. After the run-off it was Bakamitai who is voted in as the sixth Councilor for this term.
On September 19th Emperor Moo announced that Elegarth and Bakamitai were promoted to the Imperial Advisory Council thus leaving two openings. Both Cager and Muffasavil were moved on to Council because of their results in the last election to fill the gaps. At the end of September Cager resigned from the NPO, leaving a seat open for another month, Walt Schmidt was appointed to this post for one month. Brehon was also promoted to the rank of Imperial Officer as his term was coming to a close. |
