Disparu News Network (French: Réseau-Disparu), owned by the Government of Disparu, is Disparu's national public radio and television broadcaster. It is brodcasted in English, French and in Inuktitut. It used to be the Quebec branch of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation before the Quebec Referendum of 2009, when it split off from the CBC. Most of it's programming is local and international news, and current affairs, although there are also some non-news programs such as satirical shows (such as Cette Heure A Vingt-Deux Minutes), documentaries, talk shows and sports, such as Hockey Night in Disparu. [edit] History
The station was originally a part of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), until the Quebec Referendum of 2009, when it split off from the original station in order to form its own station. After splitting off from the CBC, the station was originally called the "Committee Network", and it was used and controlled by the Disparu Committee in order to bring updates to the citizens of Quebec. When Disparu formally announced its existence, the Network was renamed to its current name and control was returned to its administration.
[edit] Coverage
DNN is available nationally in Disparu through terrestrial and cable systems. Town and cities near the Disparuean border can also receive DNN. The radio version is known as DNN:Radio, and is also available internationally.
It is broadcast internationally on radio and television as DNN:iRadio (Radio) and DNN:International (Television). Both are available on most cable providers, through satellite, via the Internet and via Sirius Satellite Radio. It focuses on international news, although it also broadcasts Disparuean news on a regular basis.
