Currency is a generic term for money. A currency is a type of money. For example the Pound Sterling is the currency of the UK and the dollar is the currency of the US.
In Cyber Nations, a nation's chosen currency type is only used for cosmetic purposes, as all currencies in the game are of equal value. Thus, if a dollar-using nation gives $10,000 to a nation which uses Pounds Sterling, the recipient will gain £10,000.
