Eagleia (Pronounced: Eagle-e-ya)(Official legal name: Federation of Eagleia) is a peaceful nation, located on Planet Eagleia. It is a constitutional monarchy with parliamentary democracy as well as being a federation, compromised of the States of Goldentine, Sunnia, Northia, and Einea, the Territories of Queensland and Corona, as well as the Federal Capital of Eagleton.

Eagleia is a member of several international organizations. It is a bilingual and multicultural country, having English, Sunnian (a native language of the State of Sunnia), French, Chinese, Spanish and in various areas other languages as official ones. Eagleia is a very diverse nation, varying very vastly from place to place.

Eagleia is a peaceful nation which has whatsoever no interest in war. It is a fast growing and developing nation. It's people are of mixed ethnicities and follow mixed religions. It values democracy and protects the right of free speech. It is a fast advancing nation. Eagleia is a Federation of States and Territories (as well as a Federal Capital). Eagleia is unique in the CN universe, in that unlike many other nations which share a planet, Eagleia is on a planet of it's own (See:Geography of Eagleia) which is about similar to the size of Earth. The Federal Government of Eagleia is currently opposed to Nuclear and biological Weapons, but due to successive Defense Ministers who insist on building the Military, Eagleia does maintain good land, naval and air forces. The State Governments however, some of them, have different views from the Federal Government, but however does not conflict with them because it is the Federation and not the individual States which are allowed to maintain military forces. Eagleia is a very varying nation, with several cultures spread throughout it's globe. In a bold move Congress, the people and other legislatures in Eagleia placed a clause in the Constitution outlawing Drugs, Alcohol and even Cigarettes. Free speech and the like are protected by the Constitution and the Police may only intervene in protests if it gets violent. Citizens are free to criticize their governments, State or Federal, without fear of being jailed, etc. Immigration is allowed and welcome, though it is preffered to become a citizen to get to stay in Eagleia, it is not a requirement. The Governments of Eagleia are willing to help any friendly nation whenever it can. Eagleia opposes nations who treat their citizens inhumanely. Eagleia is a religious nation, it is not secular, but neither is it one sided in religion. The Constitution officially endorses all religions.

Unlike some nations, from the beginning Eagleia has always been a sovereign and independent nation. In fact Eagleia is the only nation to have ever existed on the world it's on. The founding fathers of the nation are the same people who found Planet Eagleia, as it's called, itself. Eagleia came into existence some what before what some sources seem to give the impression of. Eagleia's calender (the years; not dates or months) is somewhat behind Earths, as a major factor in deciding the year is from when Eagleia, was started, but for reasons of consistency, all of Eagleia's information sources use Earth years and time.

The Union and Empire of Eagleia came into existence with the signing of the old Constitution by Her Majesty the Queen. Eagleia at first was at peace, building itself up quietly. Suddenly, on March 16th 2009 the nation was attacked, but peace was settled, but didn't last, Eagleia was attacked again for the second time in a row. This time the Military was deployed and Eagleia successfully defeated the aggressive nation. After this Eagleians are determined more than ever to build their nation. After Congress deemed the nation ready, Eagleia entered into several international organisations.

The nation proceeds swiftly. The Governments of Eagleia develop themselves, adding and removing or reforming Ministries, etc. The Union stays the same size, while more semi independent countries are formed out of Eagleia's Empire, but soon all this would come to an end.

On 9th April 2009 Liberty Act, as it was called by the media, came into effect, it was actually not an act of the then Imperial Congress, but Royal Letters Patent granting more autonomy and organizing 'countries' within the Empire and granting more powers of self governance to the States of the Union.

In the first week of May 2009 several executive offices in Eagleia are reformed and some renamed, the most notable of which was the Office of the Chancellor, now renamed to the Office of the Prime Minister.

As time went by, the Union and Empire outgrew it's use. They were becoming old and seemingly unfair for some areas of Eagleia. On 15th June 2009 Eagleia Federated into a Union of semi-sovereign Provinces, federally administrated territories and a Federal District. The nation also around this time adopts environmentaly friendly policies. Nature is decreed protected by Constitutional convention.

On 30th June 2009 the Constitutional Committee finally finishes drafting a fully codified Constitution, which much of Eagleia laws and customs codified in it, although there are still unwritten Constitutional conventions which are followed. The codified Constitution is given Royal Assent and is approved by the Federal Congress and Parliaments of the Provinces. The Provinces eventually grew, gaining more land, and on August 30th 2009 the Territories of Corona and Queensland were created. Following the discovery that Planet Eagleia is not smaller than Earth but about the exact size, the Provinces were renamed States (a province now is the primary division of a State).

Eagleia is a constitutional monarchy, parliamentary democracy and a federal kingdom. All power is officially vested in the Queen, who is represented by a Governor-General appointed by the Sovereign. Although all power is officially vested in the Crown, it is delegated downwards to be used by other officials. At Federal level Executive power has been delegated to the Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister, Legislative power to the Congress, and Judaical power to the Federal Judaical System, headed by a Supreme Court, similarly at State level, executive power to the Premier and State Executive Council, legislative power to the Parliament of the State and Judaical power to a State's Judaical system headed by a High Court. It should be noted that the Monarch rarely uses the powers vested in her, similar with her representative, the Governor General, however minor ones are used to carry on day-to-day duties. The Reserve powers may be used in an emergency or threat against the people of Eagleia or the nation itself.

Eagleia is a Federation with States and Territories, of which the States have vast amounts of self government and the Territories somewhat amounts of self government. The Federal Capital is the City of Eagleton.

The nation is democracy, with most of the people who hold high office being directly or in directly elected by the people in one way or the other. The Constitution contains the requirements for holding several high offices in nation.

Executive power at federal level is delegated to a Cabinet, headed by the Federal Premier, who is officially titled the Prime Minister. The leader of the party which received most seats in the House of Representatives at the latest general election becomes PM-designate, and is given a day or two to put together a Cabinet and then is sworn in along with his fellow ministers by the Governor General.

Her Majesty's Federal Prime Minister is permitted to name people, in the House of Representatives or otherwise, to become members of the Cabinet, also reffered to as the Ministry, in turn also being reffered to, in legal documents, as Her Majesty's Government in Eagleia. The official opposition in the House of Representatives is empowered to criticize the Government by being named Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition, thereby showing their everlasting loyalty to the monarch, but allowing criticism of the Government.

All legislative power at federal level is delegated to a Federal Congress, made up of a House of Lords and a House of Representatives. The Sovereign is officially the third tier of Congress and most paramount one.

It is the democratically elected House of Representatives who, although officially secondary to the Lords, make most of the decisions. However to pass federal law it is still required for a bill to go through the House of Lords, but it is rare for the Lords to reject a bill approved by the Representatives. After a bill passes both Houses, the Queen or her representative, the Governor General will sign the bill into law (Royal Assent).

The Imperial Constitution of Eagleia (commonly known simply as "The Constitution") is the supreme law of Eagleia. It consists of a supreme book, which rests in the Great Hall of the National Archives. All text within that book is the law of the land. The Constitution also includes unwritten conventions and some Imperial Acts. Only the Monarch is above the Constitution and is the fount of justice.

The Supreme Court of Eagleia is responsible for interpretation of the Constitution and is also the court of final resort. Cases are forwarded to this Court only very rarely, there sometimes being a gap of even a year between cases. The decision of the Supreme Court now is final. Until 3rd August 2009, only the Judaical Committee of the Privy Council of Eagleia, made up of a few Lords and Ladies from the House of Lords, could overturn it's decision and only with all of it's members voting to overturn it, and only if the decision of the SCE was deemed controversial.

There exists State High Courts and Territorial Courts as well County Courts and so on, to deal with cases at a more local level.

[edit] Foreign Relations and Military

Eagleia is peaceful nation with it's foreign policy clearing outlining that. It is member of the Commonwealth of Nations, the United Nations, the CN alliance Veritas Aequitas and the CN Yellow team.

The Kingdom maintains Embassies in a number of countries on Eart, including the United States, Russia, Brazil and France. It maintains High Commission in a number of Commonwealth nations, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, India and South Africa. Eagleia has also recently begun diplomatic relations with nations on Planet Bob, such as Disparu.

As Eagleia is a peaceful nation it does not invest too much in its military, however it does anyhow for defence and policing. It is opening to trades from other nations and does not hesitate to discuss ties when another nation wishes have closer diplomatic status with Eagleia.

Eagleia's economy is one of varied success. Compared to many other nations Eagleia's economy is very strong. It's currency, the Eglot, is very stable and is one of the most valuable currencies there is. Economical success is measured differently is each of Eagleia's States. For example in Einea it is measured from the amount the economy grows each year, the method used in most countries. However in Sunnia the economy is not considered a sparkling success unless no damage was done to the nature in Sunnia while advancing technologically. Stock Exchanges are maintained in at least every State Capital and the Federal Capital.

Banknotes are printed by the Bank of Eagleia and Coins are minted by the Royal Mint of Eagleia. The power to print and make money rests with the Federal Congress.

Eagleia is a Federation of self governing States and very limited self governing Territories. The States all have elected and appointed officials and legislatures of their own.

The current States are Goldentine, Sunnia, Einea and Northia. The current Territories are Queensland and Corona. The Federal Capital is Eagleton (DV).

The States have vast amounts of self government and their own Parliaments which are not necessarily subordinate to the central Congress. They also have they own Viceroys appointed directly by the Sovereign. In addition to that they also have Premiers, who are the equivalent of the Prime Minister on State level. Each state also has a 'prefect' appointed by the Governor General on the advice of the Federal Council of Ministers to represent the 'Federation' to the state and report back to Eagleton. Each Territory has a Prefect appointed by the Governor-General, who is the head of Territory. A Territory's legislature, called a Territorial Council, is subordinate to Congress, and is lead by a Speaker.

Eagleia is a nation state which exists on a planet entirely of it's own. Planet Eagleia is 90% the size of Earth and has conditions similar to Earth, even though Eagleia's Sun is 10% smaller than that of Earth. This is because Planet Eagleia is 10% closer to it's Sun than Earth to it's one, therefore cancelling out the effect of being smaller.

The Climate of Eagleia is varied, from hot and wet to cold and dry. Just like Earth, the Planet Eagleia's very north is mostly frozen ice and the very south is a land mass covered in snow. Eagleia has deserts, rain forests and mountain ranges.

The People and Culture of Eagleia varies from place to place. Just like on Earth, Planet Eagleia has many different cultures and people. However, unlike on Earth, Planet Eagleia does not have one race of species which dominates the rest (e.g - on Earth, the human race), but several races, even animals who have reached an amount of intelligence similar to humans, who form society on the planet.

Today humans and animals, etc alike form society in Eagleia and actively participate and interact with each other. Due to the other races together having more in population than the human race, much of Eagleia's governments, legislatures, etc are made up of races more than just the human race.
