Eldr Tyr is the capital of the Empire of Tynith and the largest city in that nation. More than 50% of the nation's population resides in Eldr Tyr, and it is the seat of all national governmental agencies.

Every High Lord for the past 600 years has ruled from the throne at the Hall of Silver Flame. While the city has been laid seige to in the past, its defenses are nigh-impenetrable. No hostile nation has ever set foot within her gates.
The city's famous Temple District includes shrines and temples to dozens of gods from various faiths, most notably that of Tyr, the city's patron deity. Other temples include those to Odin, Thor, Frey, Freya, Njord, Zeus, Apollo, Yahweh, Krishna, and Buddha. Rarely does this intermingling of faiths cause problems, and those that indulge in any kind of inciteful actions in the Temple District are generally prosecuted and imprisoned.
