i. These Founding Papers mark the creation of the state of Mechanicus.

ii. They are written in good faith that worthy nations might band together in common cause.

iii. We state openly that we seek only peaceful co-existence with the rest of digiterra.

iv. We exist for the purpose of expanding the power and wealth of our member nations, for common defence against both raiders and foreign aggression, for sovereignty and self-determination within the bounds of alliance law.

[edit] Article 1

a. Rights

i. The right to speak in any manner they desire provided they do not infringe on any other member's right of free speech, or engage in seditious activity.

ii. The right to wield any weapons they so desire, for both personal defence and the defence of others.

iii. The right to defend themselves and other members from external force, without exception.

iv. To leave Mechanicus at any time, except during times of Alliance War (Alliance War being defined as the period between the Duke declaring war on the Open World Forums, and declaring an end to the conflict on the Open World Forums).

v. To otherwise act according to their own discretion so's long as it does not violate alliance Law, or be detrimental to Mechanicus as a whole.

b. Responsibilities

i. To not endanger the alliance by engaging in unsanctioned warfare.

ii. When engaging in tech raiding, to obey the Laws of Raiding as published.

iii. To maintain the secrets of Mechanicus from outsiders.

iv. To maintain honour within Mechanicus, by not engaging in spying activity.

v. To maintain strength within Mechanicus, by keeping a self-sufficient military force at all times.

a. We reside upon the Orange sphere, that we may prosper with our neighbours.

b. Until such time as we may effectively elect our own Duke for Senate, we shall elect a representative of his choosing.

c. We shall not use sanctions as means of aggressive warfare.
