The Monarchy of Eagleia (also known as the Eagleian Monarchy) is the constitutional monarchy of Eagleia. The Sovereign (the monarch) of Eagleia is it's Head of State. The Crown (or King/Queen) is the center piece of Eagleia, providing neutral and unifying leadership. The Monarchy of Eagleia, as it exists in it's Federal state today, came into existence with the Federation of Eagleia, the Eagleian monarchy did however exist before that, in a different form.

Although it may not seem like it at times, all powers of state are formally vested in the Sovereign. He/She has the power to even revoke the Constitution itself (with good reason and/or to defend the nation and it's values), without any approval from Congress, State Parliaments, or otherwise. However this immense power is almost never personally exercised by the Monarch. It is nearly always delegated to others to exercise. For example, federal executive power is delegated to the Governor General, which in turn is delegated to the Prime Minister. The Sovereign, or her representatives, do use these powers at times, for example to dissolve Congress and call an election when needed, but it is almost always on the advice of the Prime Minister, or Premiers, in the case of the States. These powers can be seen in their rare use by the Sovereign in the case of an emergency. Or for example to forbid a law which seems to threaten the nation or it's people and their rights.

As Head of State and a symbol of unity for all Eagleians, the monarch has many roles. The Sovereign is officially Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, which means that no coup can ever be successful in Eagleia. It also means that the Monarch, and her representatives, can ensure the survival of democracy in Eagleia.
Aside of being the Head of the nation, the Sovereign is also Head of the each of Eagleia's States. The Monarch, or his/her representatives, carry out important duties at both Federal and State level, such as opening Congress/State Parliaments, choosing a new Prime Minister/Premier, or presiding over events of Federal or State importance.
