Orange Juice

Orange Juice is the official newspaper of the Orange Defense Network. Currently it is published on the fifteenth of every month. It is currently being adapted to be the newsletter for Orange Unity. This was suggested by Emporer Carlus of Orion and Diomede of the Orange Defense Network. Franklin, the leader of the Orange Juice team is central to organising the adaption.

Originally Orange Juice was simply a forum group on the ODN forums and had the simple aim of publishing a newspaper with factual information about the ODN for ODN members and the world at large. Started by Ruler4 of Franklin, the newspaper consisted of several simple subcategories including Humor and Editorials. The first edition of Orange Juice was published on April 22nd, 2007.

[edit] Decline and Revival

After sometime the excitement of the newspaper dwindled to an all time low and few articles were being submitted. With the appointment of Co-Leader potato, both he and Franklin worked in correcting and reviving the newspaper. In the end the newspaper went public allowing any ODN member to write and contribute an article, instead of just the editors, and a new combination of various categories were created that are still used today:

Every issue has an "issue theme" whereupon articles are submitted to comment on a certain theme chosen by the Orange Juice Staff. This has boosted the overall success of the paper and has caused it to be recognized as one of the top CN newspapers both locally and internationally

[edit] Governmental Privacy Disputes

Leader of the Newspaper, Franklin, has come under some pressure from the ODN government as of late due to the release of often information that is private and not viewable to others but the government of the ODN. While nothing sensitive to alliance security has been relased, the general problem seems to be the relase of information that was conducted in private meetings or parts of the forum. Franklin insists that the information chosen does not risk alliance security, but the general response from the ODN government is that "private things should remain private." Franklin has agreed to limit the amount of information provided about the alliance in the paper in future issues.
