Roman Catholicism in J Andres split from traditional Roman Catholicism shortly after the formation of the nation. The bishops were angered by the growing number of false popes and the constant war that took place in Vatican City. After Pope Benedict XVI went into hiding due to wars that rocked his city, the bishops agreed that they would establish a new Holy See.

The Holy City of Saints serves as the center of the Roman Catholic faith in J Andres. The City is centered around John Paul II Square, a common area named after the former Pope. Many of the main offices, including the residence of the Pope is contained in the Cathedral of Saint Joseph.
