Stoneleigh is a small and new nation.
Nation Information[]
Stoneleigh is home to citizens primarily of British ethnicity who follow mixed religions. It is a backwards nation when it comes to technology and many refer to it unkindly as a 'Third World Nation'. Its citizens pay high taxes and constantly express grievances about their government and work environments. The citizens of Stoneleigh work diligently to produce Silver and Lead as tradable resources for their nation. It is an aggressive country that some say has an itch for war. Stoneleigh is currently researching nuclear technology for the use of nuclear power plants but believes nuclear weapons should be banned. The military of Stoneleigh has been positioned at all border crossings and is arresting all drug traffickers. Stoneleigh allows its citizens to protest their government but uses a strong police force to monitor things and arrest lawbreakers. It's borders are closed to all forms of immigration. Stoneleigh believes in the freedom of speech and feels that it is every citizens right to speak freely about their government. The government gives foreign aid when it can, but looks to take care of its own people first. Stoneleigh will not make deals with another country that has a poor history of inhuman treatment of its citizens.
Origins[]
Although Stoneleigh was officially born late in 2006, the origins of the nation can be traced right back to around the start of 2000.
At around the turn of the millenium, UK citizens were growing increasingly dissapointed at the performance of the incumbent Government. A group of people formed the Party for Action, to run in the following elections, in order to try and have a say in the way the country was run. Unfortunately, they did not get anywhere near the votes required. It was at this point that they decided to claim their camapign headquarters and surrounding lands as their own, and officially form a new state, independant of the rest of the UK.
An official letter was sent to the head of the UK Government from Party for Action in 2004, stating their intention to form an independent state, and, after no objection to their plans over the next 2 years, the Party for Action officially formed the micronation of Stoneleigh on the 19th November 2006.

The Government of Stoneleigh is a democracy. The head of Government is currently Premier Godders.
Economy[]
The economy of Stoneleigh is currently average, with taxes at a high 23%. This tax rate is currently causing some tension in the population, however, the Government seems to have diffused this by stating the high taxes are needed to build infastructure and improve quality of life overall. The treasury is currently embarking on an aggressive public spending plan, however, this has been made difficult by the lack of foreign aid. The main resources produced by the nation are Silver and lead.
