Just out of curiosity, is von Preußen related to Wilhelm II or any of the Prussian rulers? — Pikachurin 23:16, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
- To be honest, I've never given the question much thought. Insofar as I've always used "von Preußen" as the name, when the Royal House option was added, I then of course added the House of Prussia as said royal house, since that would follow through logically. In reality, there has never been a House of Prussia - which, as you pointed out, has more or less continually been ruled, in actuality until 1918 and subsequently titularly only, by the Hohenzollerns. This has been supported by my RP. So Michael von Preußen is not actually part of that Royal House, no. Furthermore, notes on the pages Kingdom of Denmark and Alexandra von Nassau confirm that Michael is not related to either the Houses of Nassau or of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, which are both related, in real life, to all other European Royal Houses. You bring up a point, though... I really should find some sort of explanation for it and put it in somewhere... maybe a new page at House of Prussia. Michael von Preußen voicemail • nation

I did some digging into exactly who this Michael von Preußen was, and how he thought there was such a thing as the House of Prussia. Turns out, he was at one point contesting the leadership of the House of Hohenzollern with Georg Friedrich, Prince of Prussia; in fact, he took Georg Friedrich to court over the matter, and lost. So it seems that after losing the case to lead the House of Hohenzollern, he took it upon himself to set up a website and falsely assume the title "Head of the House of Prussia." Very funny, and yet very stupid in my opinion.
