Die Wüste is a medium sized, mostly developed, and old nation at 341 days old with citizens primarily of German ethnicity whose religion is Baha'i Faith. Its technology is first rate and its citizens marvel at the astonishing advancements within their nation. Its citizens pay extremely high taxes and many despise their government as a result. The citizens of Die Wüste work diligently to produce Lead and Aluminum as tradable resources for their nation. It is an aggressive country that some say has an itch for war. When it comes to nuclear weapons Die Wüste will not research or develop nuclear weapons. The military of Die Wüste has been positioned at all border crossings and is arresting all drug traffickers. Die Wüste allows its citizens to protest their government but uses a strong police force to monitor things and arrest lawbreakers. It has an open border policy, but in order for immigrants to remain in the country they will have to become citizens first. Die Wüste believes in the freedom of speech and feels that it is every citizen's right to speak freely about their government. The government gives foreign aid when it can, but looks to take care of its own people first. The government of Die Wüste will trade with any other country regardless of ethical consequences.
[edit] Beginning
After realizing that with the Atlantic Wall lagging in the West; the Russian Capital, Oil Fields, and Strongholds unconquered in the East; and the leader of his country going mad with methamphetamines, Erwin Rommel, also widely known as The Desert Fox, faked his death and road in a U-Boat with his fellow officers to Argentina where he layed low for a few years. After the Surrender of Germany (V.E. Day) and the Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, The Desert Fox made his way back to a Germany in rubble. Upon landing at the Port of Rostock, he declared a new Germany, a prosperous Germany. The French quickly deamed the new nation "Die Wüste" meaning "The Desert" as a joke upon its leader's nick. However, the French were the joke of the war and so the name stuck. Today, although the FOX resides his homeland of Bavaria, the Honorary Capital of the new country is Rostock so as to mark the first footsteps of the new leader on the countries soil since the former height of the nation's power. However, despite both of those, for history's sake, all Government affairs are carried out in Germany's Historical capital of Berlin.
[edit] Alliance Affiliations
To date, The nation of Die Wüste has only belonged to two alliances: Wolfpack & Realm of Titans. Upon first entering the world, the nation was quickly accepted into the Wolfpack. The nation was recruited by the Alpha of the Pack, Wolfprince, and was the 6th nation to join. Throughout its time there, The Desert Fox contributed heavily to the alliance serving as the General of Wolfpack's Afrika Korps (eventually becoming nations 5-20k) and also served for a time as the Senate President. He was also intrumental in coming up with a modern banking system, military protocal, alliance recruitment letters and tactics, and many more. While a member, Wolfpack did not suffer a single defeat in war.
However, all good things come to an end, and on January 5th, Die Wüste and Wolfpack went their seperate ways and the FOX, along with friends King Mobius, Mroche, and several others, created the alliance, Realm of Titans and officially opened it for new members on January 6th 2008. The Realm, after only 5 days in existance, enjoys the following stats: Members: 19 Total NS: 285,000+ AVG NS: 15,000+ Nukes: 17 Points: 1.16.
The Desert Fox currently serves as the Emperor of the Realm of Titans.

Upon his appointment to Emperor, The Desert Fox named King Mobius the Secretary of War, Mroche the Secretary of State, and Young Ceaser the Secretary of the Interior (who has now left).
