The United States of Oceanesia (also known as Oceanesia or the USO) is a federal constitutional republic comprising twelve states and a federal district. The country is located stretched across the Indian and Pacific Oceans, in both Asia and Oceania, and is made up of thousands of islands.
The twelve states comprising the nation presently are, from west to east approximately: the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Christmas Island, Bali, Nusa Tenggara Bharat, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Timor-Leste, North Maluku, South Maluku, North Queensland, the Torres Strait Islands, and New Zealand. The federal capital, Oceanopolis, is located on Muralug Island, bordering the state of the South Torres Strait Islands, in a separate special administrative district.
The USO is governed as a federal semi-presidential parliamentary republic and is a liberal democracy. Governmental powers are constitutionally split between the federal, state, and local governments in the country. The country is governed under a progressive and egalitarian liberal constitution.
