Wydopia began as a small Jewish community in the Republic of Ireland, east of Galway and north of Limerick. As a young rabbi named Wydok rose to power, the community declared itself sovereign on the 13th of February, 2007, and was promptly ignored by Ireland along with the rest of the world. Soon after, King Wydok's conversion to Christianity lead the entire enation to convert also.

Nation Information[]

Wydopia is a small but growing new nation with citizens primarily of Celtic ethnicity whose religion is Christianity. It is considered to be a backwards nation when it comes to technology and many refer to it unkindly as a 'Third World Nation'. Its citizens pay extremely high taxes and many despise their government as a result. The citizens of Wydopia work diligently to produce Lumber and Spices as tradable resources for their nation. The government has no definite position on foreign affairs at this time. When it comes to nuclear weapons Wydopia will not research or develop nuclear weapons. Plans are on the way within Wydopia to open new rehabilitation centers across the nation and educate its citizens of the dangers of drug use. Wydopia allows its citizens to protest their government but uses a strong police force to monitor things and arrest lawbreakers. It has an open border policy, but in order for immigrants to remain in the country they will have to become citizens first. Wydopia believes in the freedom of speech and feels that it is every citizens right to speak freely about their government. The government gives whatever is necessary to help others out in times of crisis, even it means hurting its own economy. Wydopia will not make deals with another country that has a poor history of inhuman treatment of its citizens.

Religion[]

Wydopia started as a unique region in Ireland due to the reliigon of members in the community. Ireland is a predominantly Catholic country, but the majority of citizens in the area that became Wydopia were Jewish.

Soon after declaring itself sovereign, a Christian missionary named George Patrick came to Wydopia and began spreading the Good News of God's love. On 19 February 2007, former rabbi and current King, Wydok, converted to Christianity. He began the Church of Wydopia, a Protestant sect of Christianity similar to Baptist. While the majority of the citizens are still Jewish, Wydok annouced on that same day that the official religion of Wydopia was Christianity.
